Asheq Akhtar is a dramatic and comedic actor known for his improvisation skills and natural delivery. After making his debut appearance Gillian Wearing's feature film, 'Self Made, Variety Magazine cited him an 'obvious natural talent,' which convinced him to take up acting full time. He then continued with a career in acting with appearances in popular film and TV shows such as Sherlock, Patrick Melrose, Man Like Mobeen and Doctors. He appeared alongside Riz Ahmed and Tom Hiddleston in the award-winning short film 'Out of darkness', and went on to act as lead in Channel 4's dystopian, futuristic short film, 'Benefits'. Though also known for his distinctive appearance and characterful performances, he also utilises a diverse set of accents including variations on the Midlands accents, Indian dialect and his own neutral voice amongst others.

David hails from Canada. He is an actor, voice artist, role-player and trainer. He was a BBC Radio Drama Company member (1993-94) and has worked extensively as an ‘outside artist’ since. He dubbed numerous Manga films and foreign TV series in the 1990s. He has voiced promos, ads and even children’s’ TV characters. David has been a radio presenter. He has worked on numerous TELF programs, recorded many talking books/short stories and, to this day, does a steady stream of documentary and video narration, ADR and gaming.
